Three years ago Eric Evans coined the term "NoSQL" as a collective name for the menagerie of new databases that had appeared on the stage. Their only common feature were that they were not relational, and didn't use SQL. The post-relational revolution had slowly started, and now it's in full swing.
I'll take you on a guided tour to the new possibilities of databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra and Redis, and show you how to use their capabilities as alternatives to the relational databases that you know. I'll explain the differences between key/value stores, document- and graph databases, what Dynamo is and why the three letters CAP are important.
