Windows 8 from a Developers Perspective
Windows 8 was announced at BUILD Windows at the end of 2011. It came with a whole new way of building applications called "Metro style apps". They are different from applications we are used to, in much the same way that Windows 8 is different from the Windows operating system we are used to. What does this mean to developers? In what way are they different from what we normally build? Are we all going to start building these applications? What about existing applications? What should I learn to be able to work on the new platform? There are lots of questions about Windows 8, and the features it brings. Chris Klug, a passionate Microsoft developer from Sweden, will try to answer as many of these questions as he can during this session. There are lots of speculations as Windows 8 is still far from being released, but he will try to base his presentation on experience from building Microsoft applications on leading edge technology for many years and hard facts about Windows 8.
